GHB Recognized by Secretary of State for Community Giving

Secretary of State Kim Wyman recognized GHB Insurance with her Honor Roll certificate at a recent event at the state Capitol to honor her Corporation for Communities (CFC) award winners. The CFC award and Honor Roll recipients are Washington state companies recognized for their charitable giving and community involvement.

Four companies were recognized with the state’s top civic award, the National Secretaries of State Medallion: Kent-based Sleep Train and Republic Services in Bellevue were the two winners of the large-company category. Birch Equipment in Bellingham and US Martial Arts Center (Olympia) are the two small-company winners. Seven other companies, including GHB, were on the Honor Roll.

“Although we don’t give in order to receive recognition, I do hope that the event will inspire others locally and statewide to give back to their communities,” explained GHB President Ron Bruchet in a message to his staff. “Michele and I both believe in the strength of public/private partnerships but in order for it to work, everyone has to get involved through volunteering time and talent or providing financial support.  It’s not enough to stand on the sidelines, complain, and then hope that someone else will fix the problem.”
