Staff Has Fun Exceeding United Way Goal
For the fifth consecutive year, GHB Staff has run a highly successful team fundraising campaign to raise their contribution to the United Way of Thurston County.
The staff has increased and exceeded their fundraising goal each of those five years to give generously to an organization that helps support community non-profits like SafePlace, SideWalk, Together! and many more.
This year’s top goal was $9000, and the Staff hit a whopping $9200. How do they do it? With a lot of fun.
“We have various levels of giving goals along with other fun activities over the course of a few months that keep it fun and that dangle really good incentives,” says Curt Vaniman who heads up the staff campaign each year. “It’s key to our success.”
What kind of activities and incentives could bring about such generous giving from among just 25 employees?
Starting in February, they scheduled ticketed events like a Taco Bar, Bingo game, time for Ice Cream Sundaes, and even a buy-in for “wearing jeans days.”
And, there are different incentives depending on how much the staff raise like “jeans Mondays”, a Brunch and a bowling date all compliments of GHB.

GHB CEO Ron Bruchet looks over the staff errands he agreed to perform because they exceeded their goal
By exceeding their goal, the staff this year won it all, including the grand incentive that GHB President and owner Ron Bruchet act as a GHB Staff “Go-fer” for a full day running a personal errand for each employee in the office!
Because of the staff’s unique approach, GHB was recognized in 2015 by the United Way as the “Campaign Team of the Year”
GHB Staff are proud to contribute increasing amounts each year to the United Way that supports so many great causes in our community. And they have a great time doing it!
